The mission of Cascadia Wildlands (CW) is to educate, agitate and inspire a movement to protect and restore Cascadia’s wild ecosystems. CW was founded in 1998 by rural residents, student organizers, forest workers, scientists, and concerned business owners, united in opposition to confront rampant clear cutting on public lands in western Oregon. Since then CW has led dozens of successful grassroots organizing campaigns that have protected tens of thousands of acres of once threatened forests. Among their many recent accomplishments is the restoration of gray wolves back in the Pacific West after their near extermination.
