In Memory of Luke Scully and Angie Foust

The Tsunami of December 26, 2004, caused catastrophic losses to hundreds of thousands of people. The losses ripple extensively to those who lost their loved ones, their means of living, and in many cases their entire community infrastructure. Our immediate Rex community was touched personally with the loss of Luke Scully, brother of Rex Board member Sage Scully, and his companion Angie Foust. While relief efforts have been going on tirelessly, it is clear that recovery and healing will continue for some time to come. Knowing that many communities hit by the Tsunami will need support to rebuild, we want to do what we can to help. We have established a Tsunami Recovery Fund in in memory of Luke and Angie. All contributions to this Fund will be earmarked to recovery efforts in a manner consistent with the Rex Foundation mission and grant making approach to support grassroots activities that might be missed by mainstream funders.

We know many of you reading this message recognize that all the work supported by the Rex Foundation is still as vitally important as it was before the Tsunami tragedy. We are hopeful that, in the spirit of our Rex Community Caravan, we can add more busloads of riders and dollars to not only support our ongoing efforts, but also do what we can to help those affected so profoundly and severely by the Tsunami.
