Rex Musical Caravan: Moonalice in the Country
East Coasters: Fall is in the air, and what better way to spend a Saturday evening in rural New York than dancing under the moon with Moonalice — especially when you”re helping Rex help school music programs in the local community and having fun at the same time? Here”s your chance: On October 17, , in a Rex Musical Caravan show with proceeds dedicated to the Webutuck School Music Program.
It all started when promoter Michael Rooney of Rooney Tunes Productions got in touch with Rex executive director Sandy Sohcot and said he”d like to do something to help Rex. (Last year, when his son Sean graduated from college, Michael threw a big bash with the New Riders of the Purple Sage—also as a fundraiser for Rex.)
As it happened, Michael was producing a local Moonalice show. The Moonalice Band is, of course, a bunch of serious Rex supporters. It was a natural for a Rex Musical Caravan event.
Sandy mentioned to Michael that Rex would be donating Caravan funds to local public school arts and music programs for the rest of 2009. Perfect, said Michael, who was hoping to raise some much-needed money for the Webutuck School Music Program. It was a great fit.
If you”re going to be in the area, this will be a good time you won”t want to miss—and some kids in the area will be very glad you didn”t!
