Boris Garcia’s CD Release Party to Benefit Rex

album coverPhilly’s own Boris Garcia is a longtime friend of the Rex Foundation. Many’s the time the band has raised funds for Rex through its music: the 2007 Black Tie-Dye Ball in Falls Church, VA; 2010’s Festival of Family; and this past summer’s Pinnacle Jam II.

Over the course of their career, the Borises have released a new album every three years or so, most recently 2011’s  Today We Sail, produced by Railroad Earth‘s Tim Carbone, who also guests on fiddle. But rather than leave their fans with nothing new to tide them over, they’re releasing a live CD on Friday, March 1, and the festivities are a fundraiser for Rex!

It’s all happening at Downstairs Live at World Cafe Live, 3025 Walnut St., Philadelphia. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and the music starts at 8. Tickets are available here. Congrats to Boris Garcia on the new CD, and thanks so much for helping Rex!
