Checking in With Rex on Tales From the Golden Road
On “Tales From the Golden Road” on the Grateful Dead Channel on SirusXM, Rex Foundation Executive Director Cameron Sears talks about Rex–and how we’ve adapted in the era of a pandemic–with hosts David Gans and Gary Lambert. How we’ve always been about “hope, community, giving back, loving your brother and sister, and helping people out when they may be a little down on their luck,” as Cameron puts it.
COVID-19 made our traditional gatherings, from the ball park to the Fillmore, impossible this year. But as always seems to happen with the Grateful Dead community, we’ve pivoted and adapted to the new reality, and our supporters have been right there to help.
Cameron talks about Daze Between, our nine-day celebration of Jerry Garcia in August–how it brought people together and raised essential funds to help those whose work and livelihoods have been hit by the pandemic. He also spotlights the work of some recent grantees and how Rex is helping, thanks to you.
Referring to the many organizations and efforts we’ve helped over the years, and the repository of info about them archived here, David calls rexfoundation.org “a nexus of humanitarianism for the whole planet!”
We’ll take that…
