Project Avary “Building Better Futures”

Project Avary Kids on Boat

Project Avary hosts its annual gala to raise funds for its work improving the lives of at-risk kids.

Thursday night, October 10, 2013 at the Great American Music Hall in San Francisco, Rex grantee Project Avary hosts its “Building Better Futures” fundraising event.

Project Avary  is committed to improving the life outcomes among children who through no fault of their own find themselves at risk because a parent has been imprisoned. Project Avary offers children and teens a sense of belonging within a community of peers and supportive adults where they learn and apply the emotional, social and life skills that are essential for healthy young adulthood.

The celebration  features dinner, wine, an on-stage interview with California Attorney General Kamala Harris by Phil Bronstein of Center for Investigative Reporting. After the interview, rock the night away to Moonalice while bidding on silent auction items, including vintage Grateful Dead posters, personal photos of Jerry Garcia, Truman Capote, Jerry Lee Lewis, young Billy Joel, Roy Rogers and more.

Doors open at 6 for hors d’oeuvres and dinner music by Pete Sears.
