Eugene PeaceWorks/KEPW Homegrown Community Radio
Eugene PeaceWorks has been in existence for 35+ years. It is a small but vocal proponent of peace, justice and media issues around free speech, and represents itself as a forum for peaceful dialog between disparate community and activist groups both local and far away. With the help of the Rex grant it seeks to go on the air as KEPW, an inspirational radio station concurrent with online streaming. KEPW plans to have diverse voices from the community, music, and deep discussion of controversial issues broadcast from their (tiny) EPW office studio.
KEPW as online streaming on the Internet is aimed to engage remote listeners in this world where people no longer read much, to discuss important issues overlooked by the infotainment industry.
