RiverArts was established in 1963 in Hastings on Hudson, NY as the Hastings Creative Arts
Council. As participation from audiences and artists in Dobbs Ferry, Ardsley, Irvington,
Tarrytown, and Sleepy Hollow increased, HCAC was renamed to Rivertowns Arts Council under
the trademark name of RiverArts to better represent its commitment to serving these
communities. The organization’s programming includes exhibitions, performances, education,
and community-wide festivals celebrating local art and music.
